Web 2.0 Expo Keynote

Tim O'Reilly predicted that Microsoft will emerge as a leading proponent of the open Web. In "The War for the Web," a blog post published Nov. 16. He said:
"Microsoft will emerge as a champion of the open Web platform, supporting interoperable web services from many independent players, much as IBM emerged as the leading enterprise backer of Linux."
But he didn't explain how Microsoft would do this. O'Reilly used the blog post as a precursor to his Tuesday keynote at the Web 2.0 Expo in New York. Here he explains in detail with amazing precision how the web works and where we are headed.

He closed with the admonition from Jeff Jarvis, "As you build services, do what you do best, link to the rest."
