Joyce Sensmeier, MS, RN-BC, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, who serves as HIMSS Vice President for Informatics, testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation on Sept. 30, 2010. She updated legislators on progress of the EHR Incentive Program and spelled out HIMSS perspective on the progress of federal efforts in the standards arena to support the first stage of meaningful use. She also called for more timely health information technology standards warning that without them the government is causing confusion in the marketplace. Her written testimony is below the video:
