The President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) released a report entitled “Realizing the Full Potential of Health Information Technology to Improve Healthcare for Americans: The Path Forward.” This report has broad implications for health information exchange efforts and is recognized by the Office of the National Coordinator as an important policy guideline for future efforts.
The PCAST Report Workgroup of the HIT Policy and Standards committees was formed and met for the second time on January 14, 2011. The Workgroup has been created under the auspices of the HIT Policy and HIT Standards Committees to synthesize and analyze the public comments and input into the PCAST Report relative to implications on current and future ONC work.
