HIT Policy Committee Advisory Meeting

General Function of the Committee: to provide recommendations to the National Coordinator on a policy framework for the development and adoption of a nationwide health information technology infrastructure that permits the electronic exchange and use of health information as is consistent with the Federal Health IT Strategic Plan and that includes recommendations on the areas in which standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria are needed.

AHIMA offers the Executive Skills Institute to accelerate managers/directors̢۪ professional development and transition leadership skills to keep pace with the changing healthcare environment. Participants will develop presentation skills, enhance professional writing skills, learn collaborative negotiation skills, along with mentoring, and understanding how different generations impact the workplace.

National Rural Health Association's 2009 Quality and Clinical Conference

NRHA's 2009 Quality and Clinical Conference July 21 - 24 in Park City, Utah, will bring together professionals interested in quality and performance improvement, including clinicians and nurses working on the front lines of rural health care, for a discussion on how to utilize health information technology (HIT) so rural areas can become leaders in health care quality. General Function of the Committee: to provide recommendations to the National Coordinator on standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria for the electronic exchange and use of health information for purposes of adoption, consistent with the implementation of the Federal Health IT Strategic Plan, and in accordance with policies developed by the HIT Policy Committee.
